Indian women dominate again: Kabaddi World Cup crown retained, PM Modi applauds victory

India’s women kabaddi team made the nation proud again in Dhaka as they successfully defended their world mug title, winning their alternate successive kabaddi world mug palm.

They have showcased exceptional grit, skills and dedication. Their victory will inspire millions of young girls and boys to take up Kabaddi, dream bigger and aim higher.”
Ajay Thakur, former India captain and Head Coach of the Puneri Paltan in the Pro Kabaddi League also rejoiced in their success. The coach took to X to congratulate the team on their historic victory and he also observed that women’s kabaddi has made great strides in recent years and noted that India Kabaddi victory showing in the tournament reflects the pace at which the sport has grown and the rising popularity it is witnessing around the world. Hosting the tournament in Bangladesh, Thakur further shared his hope that the country’s performance inspires more teams and they maintain the momentum in years to come.
